There are those of us for whom a garden isn’t just a separate part of the house, but truly another dimension of our living space – and our personality and perhaps even our soul. At least, that’s how it is for Elizabeth Leland, principal and co-founder of Private Gardens. Whether you envision a garden of lush, romantic beauty, a serene but minimalist haven …or you’re not quite sure of what you want, Elizabeth can work with you to create something that achieves your vision, complements your property, and fits your life.

Elizabeth created Private Gardens, Landscape Architecture in 1989. She’s a licensed landscape architect with more than 27 years of professional experience in land planning, landscape architecture and horticulture. She works both with homeowners and builders on custom projects of every size and specification imaginable. Private Gardens serves both residential and commercial clients all over Southern California, including Los Angeles, San Diego, and Orange County.

Elizabeth’s clients enjoy a collaborative process, offering as much or as little input as they like, at every step of the process. Once Elizabeth successfully translates this vision and the garden is installed, she works with the client to establish a maintenance schedule — offering seasonal or occasional checks to ensure the garden realizes its full potential and matures beautifully. This extra service is unique in the industry, but Elizabeth wouldn’t do it any other way: it’s an essential link to successful gardens and satisfied clients.
